Alloy Wheel Rim Leak Repair Service
So… Heres How Our Rim Leak Repair Is Done !
Rim leaks can be a nightmare to get fixed. If you’re not careful, you can find yourself wasting money on failed attempts, as many tyre shops will simply apply a fresh coat of tyre soap in the hope that the bead will reseat well enough to stop the leak. Simply reseating the tyre doesn’t address the underlying problem, so the leak will just come back.
The main cause of rim leaks is corrosion of the aluminium where the tyre bead sits inside of the wheel. This normally occurs because factory paint hasn’t been applied to the inside of the wheel, as this area isn’t visible. The moisture in the compressed air used to fill tyres leads to corrosion of the exposed metal, preventing an airtight tyre fit.
To fix the rim leak, we remove the tyre, shotblast the inner beads back to bare metal, and coat them with an anti-corrosion 2K paint. After the paint is cured, we apply a coat of tyre bead sealer. We then swap out the existing valve for a brand-new one before fitting your tyre and rebalancing the wheel.
Our rim leak repair service fixes the problem 10 times out of 10 and, because we’re so confident in the quality of our work, it’s backed by a 2-year warranty.
